I hope you are keeping well during this uncertain time. To all the families who have reached out to us at the club I really appreciate it; your support and patience is greatly received by everyone.
In light of the announcement FFA made on Tuesday in regards to the suspension of grassroots football in Australia, there will be no football in Victoria or at SYSC until June 1. We are working with FV and council to ensure we get a season up and running which we are hoping runs from June until end of October. Football Victoria has asked all clubs to ensure their members that the season has not been cancelled, just a further postponement.
The SYSC committee wants to ensure all members of the following:
– If season is cancelled, the 2020 fee paid will be transferred over to season 2021. Therefore meaning no rego fee will have to be paid in 2021 for current registered players.
– If we can only enter a certain number of teams due to government restrictions, then the current registered players will get priority into these teams.
To the parents asking if they can still register their children, the answer is Yes. Registration is still open through the PlayFootball link. We have also setup a deposit link, which allows the parent/player to pay a portion of the fee now and the remaining when the season begins (thanks to one of our parents, Niki Munoz for the great idea!)
